Trouser legs catching in shoes – part 2

Well, if you saw my last thread, you know I was dealing with this issue with different trousers and different shoes. The trousers were of a very lightweight material and we concluded I probably need a cuff.

Fast forward to today. These are really heavy gabardine wool pants with a wide opening. Same damn issue. I have them set at the perfect height (using braces) and still I move the littlest bit and the same %#*@ issue!

See pics below. First two show how I set everything, last one how it all breaks down with the slightest bit of movement. I’m so at a loss at this point. I really hate this phenomenon...

I've had something similar happen to me, but it had nothing to do with the length of the trousers, it was the fabric. I had a couple of pairs of trousers that were prone to collecting and holding static electricity. This cause the tousers to cling to my ankles and sock, catching on my shoes. Drove me crazy (it's a short drive TBH) so I got rid of them.

Not sure if that's what's going on here, but there are really three players in this game: the trousers, the socks, and the shoes. Does this happen with all your trousers, no matter what sock or shoes you wear?

Of course, you could switch to wearing boots...
