Trivia: What hat does Brad Pitt wear in the Assassination of Jesse James?

I have looked at many hats and can't figure out who makes it? Could it be a Hollywood custom made movie replicia? To it looks like an old 2 1/2" to 2 5/8" rim Homburg, but it has a slight crease on the top.

You can get (cheap)Homburgs a lot cheaper than $190 but new ones tend to have
a much lower crown. The one I linked has a 6"(tall) crown.

In the link, the hats crown angles inward at the top and the crease is to sharp and deep. Simular, but still not it.

you thought it was a Bowler, after all, when it is in fact a type of Homburg.
At least you know what to call it now.

Of course it IS a costume hat, it could be from anywhere.
It could be from a hat shop, an Old West outfitter, or it could be a custom hat.

Of course remember any hat used in a movie rarely resembles anything off the shelf...They always seem to tweak it just enough to make it more unique...

I sure wish they'd have them forsale. I love the look of it. Is it possible to mold the soft bends on the top of a Homburg?

There is the possibility it was made for the movie and recreating a style not found in most hat makers catalog these days. You might check Baron Hats of Burbank, CA they are always trumpeting their "Hollywood" connections.
