Tiny little suits on ebay,...G.I. Joe's civilian clothes?

Did anyone else happen to notice these?
Turns out they were a sort of chit that represented a gift until the recipient could go to the clothing store and get fitted for the item. I have never seen these before, it's kind of a cool idea.

Those are neat! I wonder if they could fit a Ken doll...

It reminds me a bit of the model camping tents you see at Target or elsewhere. Perfect for doll playing!

They were both. Miniature hats were made, too. The mini suits, at least, were carried around by traveling salesmen to show their suits' fabrics and designs in a "novel" way. Sometimes they were also given as chits.

The mini hats (which came in mini hatboxes!) were given out as "gift certificates" for life size versions. I don't know if they were also used as samples.
