This style deserves it's own thread, IMHO...
When I ordered my first custom from Art, I specified a hat like the Penney's Marathon from Sea Biscuit but I wanted a ribbon like a Stetson Playboy. Jimmy the Lid, with his bountiful library of Stetson models, educated me that there was a Stetson model similar to my specs, the Stetson Wanderer.
I have been searching since for 1 in my size. I have seen others, GWD had one, in smaller sizes. Though I have yet to see one with the model stamped on it like an Open Road or Stratoliner, this one I bought from Buler fits the Bill.

I agree on both counts, thanks. It is the lightweight felt, ArtLite, & being the Blue Smoke, it is ULTRA lightweight.

I'll need to measure the one I just landed but the specs on the hat I got from Art is 5 1/2" crown, 2 3/4" brim with 4 ligne ribbon binding, 11 ligne ribbond band.
I know the Stetson has a 7/8" ribbon band & 4 ligne edge binding.
I'll get the crown & brim specifics this weekend.

Just measured the Stetson & hard to believe but the crown is 5 1/2" & the brim is 2 3/4"!!!

Two and three quarter is the magic number for me. I like those Stetsons and sister hats that feature that. It gives a cool American look. It's different from the Borsalino look. I like them both, use them both. You can have several personalities by having several hats.
