Ah, it's the wavy zipper you're referring to. That doesn't have anything to do with a spongy hide. Thedi has a way of processing a jacket to give it an aged look, which they call 'washing'. I think it involves heating / tumbling the jacket. The result is leather with lots of character but also a wavy zipper.No. That's why I am asking? A perfectly fair question as there are extreme examples of this, with the zipper floating all over Greece like below. What particular process causes this?

Ah, it's the wavy zipper you're referring to...
Here's a pic of a brand new washed horsehide jacket (not spongy at all). As you can see it also comes with a wavy zipper.
