The theoretical thread

Maybe, we like to discuss the never happened things?

For example:
You know, that I like The Final Countdown (1980).

Lets assume, a Part II would be made, a second time travel happens AND the returning time travel would come too late. Lets assume, the things would happen a little different.

The Japanese Navy Joint Force decides to stop its operation, because they recognized, that something very strange is going on and maybe they were betrayed be someone. So they turned around and went back home as fast as possible.

The USS Nimitz still doesn't attack the Japanese Joint Force. Finally, her commander decides, it has no sense to send radio signals to Pearl Harbor. They must sail back, facing the unbelievable.
So, as things must come out, FDR needs to rush to Oahu to see it with his own eyes.

So, now? What would he have done?
Japan didn't attack, the United States are still not in war.

Sure, inspecting the USS Nimtz piece by piece. Causing a major confusion about what to do now. Inform the military industry, causing big confusion?? Could they be able to produce spare parts? Or even develop new carrier class?

What to do with Nimitz itself? Integrate into the Pacific fleet? Currently, without spare parts? Or handling an aircrat carrier top secret?? What to do with its aircrafts?? Trying to re-engineer?

Informing younger Matthew Yelland and others, that them selves came from the future of 1979 ??

My personal opinion is, that they would not have integrate USS Nimitz into fleet. Too much practical problems, I guess. And no important spare parts on stock..
