This thread is meant to show off your SJC purchases as well as to show a wider audience what will be made available. SCJ is unique in that we as potential customers have a voice in what will be made and how the designs are going to be. Our expertise is wanted. A reason for me to open this thread is to garner more interest in the company's products. If you are like me, you have certain vintage holy grail pieces, like 14 oz. cream flannel trousers (virtually impossible to get new), a 1930s DB belted back jacket made from Fresco cloth or tarsal strap spectator shoes, or maybe shirts or waistcoats in heart print wabash. SJC products only go into production when there are enough backers to finance a run. To get a mill to weave a certain cloth like the cream flannel or for a manufacturer to even consider making shoes or suits for you, you have to order a certain minimum. Here is where you come into play. I really do want to get my 1930s belted back suits, as my arms are just too long to ever hope to find a vintage original. To make such a suit happen it is not enough to have three or four guys to commit. We need like 20. The numbers differ for different projects. I hope to spark enough interest with this thread to make sure SJC can actually provide us with all the hard to get gems we have been dreaming about. I want to stress that I am in no way affiliated with SJC. I am just a potential customer who thinks this company is onto something. I believe SJC can satisfy many needs of us vintage enthusiasts much like Aero or Goodwear do for the leather jacket crowd.
SJC is a new enterprise by Simon James Cathcart, known as simonc here on the Lounge. Simon has launched his company with us vintage clothes horses in mind. To say it with his own words:
"Brands make you buy, but you don't always get exactly what you wanted as your voice was never heard. You take that item into forums and talk about what you got and what could have been, but no one in there can help you. It's too late.
SJC makes the things you want and how you want them because you were there first and your voice was heard. What's even better is your participation in the process in here is rewarded with wholesale priced products as and when they roll off production lines before the general public gets hold of them.
SJC is a design and apparel company focused on making the long forgotten impossible to get pieces that those among our number pine for. The purpose of the forum is therefore to facilitate a meaningful connection between maker and buyer. Consultation is critical and members are encouraged to contribute generously, to monitor and publicise the progress of items they are interested in, and to thereafter evaluate them in order that our processes will never stand still. With the knowledgeable enthusiasts we have gathered together in this community we can make what we want and get what we need.
I don't know what will happen and how SJC Forum will evolve, but I know that my value as Director of SJC lays in the fact that I am extremely capable at getting high quality pieces delivered at a great price. That, and I suffer the same sartorial affliction as you. So the connection to make beautiful product is absolutely genuine between us. I am focused on deliberately stretching beyond my comfort zone and am a trained listener and doer. All of you in here know me and I know you.
So you have a pivotal role to play. You post, you question, you oversee, you evaluate. If you see a survey, fill it out. This helps push things as far forward as we can to give you the pieces with the details and the service you need. Polls are very important. Vote. Speak. Contribute. Post up whatever you are into; lifestyle, hobbies, design, interests etc etc. Share links and start threads for all kinds of goods and brands including ebay links, just not necessarily the one's you're selling - but do post them if they demonstrate an idea relevant to an existent thread."

A few denim projects have already been realized. Not being a denim guy myself I didn't participate, but the results are very promising. To start things off I included some pics by Sloan and TwoTypes as well as peeks into current SCJ projects.
