I wonder what kind of hat that actually is.
Is that a cotton, a straw, or felt? If it's felt, is it wool or cotton? [huh]
Personally, I think it looks kinda like a straw, but I suppose this time of year in NY, it might be a cotton.

To me it looks like it's a straw fedora. Anyway, good article. We need more people like that to report anything of concern to the authorities. The "Bystander Effect," as it's usually called, is unfortunately all too common.
