I believe this to be from the 1940s/50s time frame. The "Hat-A-Way" was branded under "Knox Hatters".
The device comes folded in an envelope that is 17"x12". The front of the envelope has a logo of a hat, as well as the title of the item inside. The reverse has photos showing how to use the hat holder, as well as a textual description for each step.
When removed, the "Hat-A-Way" is folded. Finding the hanging cord, and lifting results in three holders being exposed. Each holder is a flap that allows it to be lifted, and the hat crown placed inside, and lowered down to hold the hat. Each opening also has two tabs that lift up to support and secure the crown of the hat.
Removal of a hat is very simple, and quite fun. Grab the brim of your hat, lift up, and the hat falls right out, and is ready for wear.
