So, Entertainment Weekly broke the exclusive on Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan in the Green Lantern film and here is a link to a VERY high resolution picture so be forwarned you can count the stubble on his chin the photo is that big.

Having taken a look at the costume, I really like the direction this is going. I like what I've heard that as the character in the comics draws his super powers from his ring, then the suit he wears should also come from the ring.

My understanding is that the suit is a computer animated design mapped over a motion capture suit that Reynolds wears during filming. It is very impressive.

What does everyone else think?

I think Guy Gardner is the best Lantern!*

*I am so ashamed of being the sort of geek who is invested in which Lantern is the best.

The costume does come from the ring in the comics, anyway.

Just maybe they'll get this one right. The Green Lantern is a very good character for a movie adaptation, given the creative visual possibilities of the power ring. Ryan Reynolds is a good choice for Hal Jordan - he's likable and can project the heroism that's central to the character (and the Green Lantern doesn't need a Schwartzeneggarian physique).

Personally, I wish the costume were a little closer to the original Gil Kane design (with the white scoops on the side of the chest and white gloves), but that's a minor thing. Their getting the right science-fiction tone is my biggest worry.

As always with today's movies, that the designs, effects, and visuals will be impressive is a given, but that the story will be done right isn't! (This also sums up my feelings about the forthcoming Thor film... another classic 60s character I love, and am terrified won't be handled correctly.)
