Saw this;

Former '90210' star Brian Austin Green has revealed that he is actively campaigning for the lead role in Warner Bros.' 'Green Lantern,' making him the latest addition to a list of possible contenders that also includes Chris Pine, Ryan Gosling, Emile Hirsch, Sam Worthington and Anton Yelchin. But for all its impressiveness, the list of rumored names remains just that.

And 'Green Lantern' isn't the only superhero tentpole of late to experience casting difficulties. There's also 'Thor,' 'The First Avenger: Captain America,' 'The Flash' and the eagerly anticipated 'Iron Man 2.' With all the rumors and Internet chatter, it's often impossible to distinguish fact from wishful thinking. But fear not -- Moviefone is here to save the day with a rundown of what's really going on with the next big wave of superhero blockbusters. -- By Tom DiChiara

'The Green Lantern'
Though WB is still in search of the man to play Hal Jordan and his alter-ego the Green Lantern, the film already has a finished script, courtesy of Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim and Michael Green, and an accomplished director in Martin Campbell, best known for helming the James Bond flicks 'Golden Eye' and 'Casino Royale.' Though Ryan Gosling was long rumored the top choice to play the character, whose green ring gives him power over the physical world, he reportedly passed on the role in February -- and 'Star Trek' star Chris Pine has since confirmed to MTV.com that he's met with the 'Lantern' casting director and producers to discuss the role but has yet to be offered the part. The movie is poised for a Dec. 17, 2010, release.

I thought Alan Scott was Green Lantern's alter ego? ;)
:eek:fftopic: I have a customer named Alan Scott. I avoided saying anything to him for a while but one day I figured "He's an older gentleman, he might know what I'm talking about." I said "You have the same name as the Golden Age Green Lantern." He looked at me like I said the dumbest thing ever so I continued helping him and looged into my mind to never mention that to him again. :eusa_doh:

Sincerely,
The Wolf

true, alan scott was the golden age freen lantern. however, in the modern day, he is not a member of the green lantern corps. the current members of the corps who patrol space sector 2814 are lantern hal jordan & john stewart. however, in the past guy garnder as well as kyle rayner have been assigned to this space sector.

there was a point in time when hal became the supervillan paralax & more or less destroyed part of san deigo (it became sub deigo). however hal jardan sacrifices himself to reignite the sun in the mini series final night.
