The dry block?

Personally, I HATE reblocking my hats by soaking them, because I always end up losing my perfect bash (and I'm not the kind of person that has alot of luck doing it again).

Is there any problem with reblocking your hat dry? Just pull it over the block, let it sit for maybe a day or something. I used to do this with my Akubra with good results, and doing it even once a week was not a problem since I would just let it sit overnight.

This is assuming that the block fits the hat.

Discuss.

If your hat has shrunk, you can't dry block it without the risk of severe damage the felt. But otherwise, if your block fits into the hat with the sweatband still attached, then there's no problem at all with it.

A little steam will work well, rather than a soak if you want to reblock.
The steam will soften the hat and allow it to conform to the shape of the block.
You will have to crease the hat again. However I think that's just part of the fun.
