My vote goes to Art`s box bow with folded back edges.

What are your votes for the best of anything Fedora related in 2008?

Mallory light weight. in a very snazzy green.

Very soft to the touch and quite easily shaped. I have been getting more and more used to the lighter felts year round. They are so damn comfortable.

That's a great looking Mallory, Douglas. In some ways, it reminds me of the Stetson Casual in terms of style and the nature of the felt.

Gene -- the Blue Trionfo rules. Great, great lid!

And, Feraud -- to have an original Whippet in that color and condition...Just fantastic!

Nicely done, Gents! :eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap

Cheers,
JtL

Johnnyphi Auctions

I think it would be hard for us Lounge Lidsters not to mention the Johnnyphi Auctions as a Best of 2008 winner. The auctions have stretched out over a period of months, so it's almost easy to take them for granted -- they have simply become part of the scene here. But what an amazing thing, really -- a treasure trove of mint vintage lids offered exclusively here on the Lounge. Not only have the auctions offered individual Lidsters the chance to acquire a "new" vintage lid -- they have also served as a real education. The collection of beautiful photos of meticulously documented lids itself serves as a great resource.

So -- my hat's off to Johnnyphi in 2008! :eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap
Hats off, too, to MK and the Barkeeps for helping to facilitate this grand event! :eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap

Cheers,
JtL

Tortswon, that ribbon is excellent!! :eusa_clap

It goes w/out saying that I am a big fan of The Douglas Collection. He cannot post a bad looking hat.

I'd like to add my VS Bogart style featuring Art's first ever "welt" edge. It's natural is color (sorry the photo color is so bad).

I must say, RBH. . .

That silverbelly with the blue ribbon is mighty sharp. Too late to have one made up this season, but I sure like it. Somebody had Art Fawcett make up something similar and posted it on the thread dedicated to his hats. Next year, next year. . .

Yes, the hat has a simple elegance. I'm liking Mike's work more and more all the time and I have every expectation that he'll develop a strong reputation and steady clientele in his new shop space.

But man, Rusty, those spectacles are just too cool. Are those frames vintage? (If they're "frameless," are they still called frames?) Or do I detect those modern "spring hinge" thingies? Best of both worlds, maybe?
