Hi Folks,

I have several hat jacks; The vintage ones are pretty good, but can get pricey depending on the size, and the new ones, well, just aren't that great IMHO. In any case, I recently ordered one of Art Fawcett's hat bands, which was made to my exact exact head shape. It really is the best single accessory I've bought for my hat collection. It's fairly priced, and works like a charm in any hat that is reasonably close to my size. I just pop it in over-night, and the hat has a great fit the next morning!

I'm sure you experience hatters know about these, but for us newbies I thought it was worth a couple of pics...

I have no affiliation with the seller, but modern high quality hat jacks are certainly available today - at least as good as any vintage one. The same seller will make a hat jack precisely to your personal oval for $80. Not to harm Art's business, but such a jack is even more versatile than a personalized band block :)

Well, often I pay more than $80 for shipping, customs and VAT for a cheap eBay-hat. And the $80 will buy you both a hat jack and a personalized band block in one device. It may just be me, but I don't find it expensive - but I don't know what a band block, like the one you show, costs :)
