Tailoring project

I picked up a great custom-made (custom made, unfortunately, for someone else's body) blue blazer the other day at Goodwill for $5.50. It's not vintage but it is a fine jacket. It's a very fine, almost silky, wool fabric, with winged lapels, single-breasted, and has functioning button cuffs. Absolutely beautiful jacket with the exact features I prefer.

Problem is, it's a good size too big and too long. It will require fairly major alterations, but I'm thinking a good tailor could do it with no problem. I'm willing to spend a fair amount of money on it since I basically picked it up for free and it's in almost-new condition.

First, am I on the right track? Is this do-able? And, if so, does anybody know a good tailor in the Atlanta area?
