Short Swiss army coat, probably from the 1940s.
It appears to be a greatcoat shortened to a peacoat equivalent length.
Some interesting features:
Sleeve turn ups. Very much a heritage feature found on Napoleonic and older uniforms, it is actually very practical in that you can adjust the sleeve length.
Zig-zag stitching on the collar. Everything is made to be indestructible. Rows and rows of gratuitous stitching on the collar stand.
Multiple inner pockets
Adjustable back belt.

High armholes
This coat seems to have been first mislabelled a size 50 (European 40) and then 52(42) Interestingly, it is pretty much between these two sizes.
Ideally a size 40-41, without any room for a jacket underneath.
Measurements, with the belt loosened:
- armpit to armpit:22 inches
- shoulder width: 17.5 inches
- sleeve length: 26 inches
- Length from bottom of collar: 31 inches
Not looking to make a profit on this coat, I am asking for the price I paid for it, which is quite low:
£45 plus shipping.
