Stetson Fargo

Here is a picture of my birthday present. It's a Stetson Fargo. I got it back in January and have been wearing it ever since. I'm so used to it by now that I almost feel like I'm not fully dressed without it (kind of like a watch or wedding ring). I'll try to post some better pictures once I edit them to get the red eye out.

You know, I saw pics of the Fargo on several websites, and it didn't impress me. But it really suits you well, rrog. It goes to show you how important it is to match the hat and the wearer. Well chosen. :eusa_clap

Great looking hat. I did a search, and only found a couple of sites that offer it. So availability may be limited. It's also that famous "silver belly" color, which is really versatile. Good choice! :eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap

Thanks for the compliments. I already love this hat! My dad had a Steston cowboy hat in Silver Belly, so I wanted to get one in that color. I only wish they had some interchangable hat bands, so I could change colors. I'm sure there's an aftermarket maker somewhere who specializes in this, so I'll eventually get around to checking.

And yeah, the store I got it from (Quality Hats) said it was new. So I don't know what the availability is. I'd like to get other colors too. The only other one Quality Hats has is a walnut color. Maybe they'll offer it in more colors in the future.

Have you tried Bencrafthats.com...they've got the Vintage and Stadium Stetsons, which are close to the Fargo. They're lounge members and have some great quality hats!..Give em a try....

Sorry RBH, forgot to answer: the brim is 2 1/2". That's one reason I wanted this style b/c I was always bumping the back of my Outback hat on the seat headrest with its 3 1/4" brim. I haven't had that problem at all with the Fargo.

I checked out bencrafthats.com. They've got some nice-looking hats. The steel gray color of the Sutley sounds like it would look nice. I wish they had a pic of that color.

And is there a place that carries after market bands and ribbons? I think a ribbon would look good on the Fargo too.

Thanks for the welcome tinmanzzz. I'm up in Jefferson County. But I work in Knoxville. I was at the O'Charley's in Turkey Creek, with my hat, and made a comment to the waiter that I wished more men wore hats so restaurants would start placing hat racks in them. He said that he has seen more hats recently and that they were coming back in style. I know I've had four different guys from church tell me they were thinking about getting one.
