Hi all,

I recently purchased a pair of Stacy Adams Madison Black in Croc Leather. The seller says "vintage" which is large reason for the purchase other than the look of the boots. I however could find no information from the seller on the age. The only place google led me to was a chat on the fedora lounge in 2009. I decided to ask you and see if someone might know what to look for. I would greatly appreciate any insight you can give. I also wouldn't mind general opinions.

Ive included the link to the ebay post here:

*Edit: After much research and several calls to Stacy Adams HQ, I was able to find that this model was introduced in the early 2000's and discontinued in early 2016. Thank you all for the riveting advice and intuitive opinions, I'm sure that they meant a lot to you*

Just my opinion. I think that you got a pair of shoes with a crocodile print. Stacy Adams is known for using something that they call "kid leather" . Stacy Adams shoes and boots are produced using very low cost material and manufacturing. I doubt if you got an exotic leather.

Thank you for letting me know. I doubt I did too, but It's not disconcerting to me. I'm mainly interested in the age of the shoe. On another note I've heard the older they are the higher the quality (relatively speaking), though I'm not looking for boots in the $200 or $300+ range anyway.

If you are just looking for a pair of boots, Stacy Adams are okay for light use. They do feel comfortable. The fit is okay. The prices are low. You can wear them for walking around, going to dinner, or sitting at your work desk. I wore a pair of Stacy Adams on a week-long Las Vegas trip. A lot of walking up and down the strip.....miles going through all of the casinos and shopping arcades. They were okay on the dance floor. Trips to Hoover Dam, Lake Mead, and Grand Canyon. They brought zero luck gambling. Stacy Adams Madison boots will not be for motorcycle rides, hikes, etc. I do have enough confidence in them to run after a bus or train when you're late.

For new, low cost boots, Stacy Adams are sold at a discount on Zappos, Amazon, DSW, and even Stacy Adams dot com. I see them starting around $20.

Why not message the seller and ask him when they were purchased?

Vintage to some people is last season’s styles…
