St. Joe Stetson Outlet?

I'm going to Kansas City later this week to see kids and grandkids and just wondered if anyone knows if the Stetson Outlet at St. Joe is worth diverting to.

Over the years, I've heard you could get great deals there, but never knew if that was really true or just one of those things you heard.

One of the Raiders of the Lost Ark sites once suggested you could get great fedoras dirt cheap, but you'd think in this day there'd have to be a catch.

Anyway, I'd appreciate any input.

Hi Sam,
I wasnt aware that the outlet was till there. The factory closed a while ago and the only remaining outlet is in Garland TX. There one can find great deals on hats . I found a dozen Stetson Pinnacle hats that are beaver quality for a third of my wholesale cost. I brought them back to my store and blew them out in one week!
Call first to see if the outlet in St Joseph is still open.

All I know is that it's still listed on the St. Joe website, but then those can really be out of date.

I think I've got a phone number. Calling first would be a good idea.

Yes, the outlet is still there. I visited it about 2 weekends ago. I purchased a Dobbs Dayton and a Dobbs I don't know the model for a total of $60.

Unless someone is playing a joke on me, I spoke with someone from that outlet yesterday or the day before. Garland seems to have more selection, at least in the big sizes, although the MO outlet had a Temple in Caribou in size 7 7/8. Frank

I don't know yet if the g-kids will allow be enough down time to go from south of KC to St. Jo, but it might be worth the effort.
