LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - An online gambling site is taking bets on whether Heather Mills' artificial leg will fall off during her upcoming appearance on "Dancing with the Stars." Mills, 39, the estranged wife of Beatle Paul McCartney, lost her left leg below the knee in a traffic accident in 1993. She is the first contestant on the hit ABC television show to compete with an artificial limb.

A week before Mills' March 19 debut, Antigua-based gaming site http://www.bodog.com opened bets on whether her prosthetic leg would fly off during a dance routine -- and made "no" a heavy favorite....

I forget which programme she was being interviewed on for UK TV, about her appearance in "Dancing with the stars". She actually made a point of saying that it would probably make everyone laugh if her leg flew off, during a high kick in a dance routine. At least she finds it amusing, but as you say, people will bet on anything!

I thought Heather Mills did a terrific mambo. She looked like she had a lot more confidence than she did the previous week.

I saw Dancing with the Stars last night (I think they're down to about 6 couples). Most of the stars have learned how to move. They're a lot more smooth and graceful than they were even a few weeks ago, and they're capturing the moods of the dances. Even John Ratzenberger (Cliff from the TV show Cheers) was much improved.

It goes to show what enough knowledge and practice will do. :)

P,
Funny you should post to this thread - I passed a dance class last night, the couples all visible through the plate glass front wall of the place and wondered how many of them were inspired by that show.
