Chest measurement?

Mr HJ, I have no experiece with Peterman sizes so I'm wondering if I could fit into the jacket of this suit. I'm a bit over 44 but still fit into most any Orvis 44 and most Lauren 44's but not into Lauren size large as it's closer to a 42 in my experience. The Orvis 44's measure 47" or 23.5" across. Thanks

It is a pretty generous 44. My actual chest measurement is 42 and I can pull this away from my chest at least 4 inches. It measures approximately 23" inches from the bottom of the arm pit across to the other.
