. . . like when you were a gangly preteen, maybe, and wore some questionable hats! Here's one of me in the early 70's:

Nice pic! Here's a pic with my first felt hat, back in 1962. I loved that hat, but left it out in the rain and forgot about it for a couple of days - Mom would not let it back in the house.

As I'm sure I've mentioned here before, I collected hats as a kid. These pictures are part of the same set as my avatar picture, and were taken by my dad (the pro photographer) for a report I did on hats in eighth grade, circa 1969:

I still have these hats (also a boater, two top hats, assorted kaffiyehs, etc.), but they are all two sizes too small for me now.

Those are fantastic hats and even better photos, Doctor Strange--thanks for sharing them. Takes me back to the late 60s/early 70s as well, although no hat photos. Just a memory of a sorry attempt to attend a Halloween party dressed as Erroll Flynn...penciled-on moustache, a white shirt of my father's that was too big for me and thus somewhat blousy, brown polyester slacks, and ankle boots. A stick wrapped in tin foil as my sword. No one got it--they just thought I was trying to grow a moustache. Thank god there were no photos taken. Glad to see your outfits were much better put together!

Heck, I was already a member of the Thin Ribbon Society and didn't know it in 1971. But, even with a cool hat I couldn't get a date. You think it was the glasses???lol

fortu... I mean unfortunately I don't have any pictures of myself when I was young in digital form ;)

Same. lol lol

My mom has one I'll try to get. I got a slouch hat from somewhere when I was around three or four. My mom says that I got up in the morning, put it on, and wore it until I went to bed. Good kid.

I could have sworn I posted these two pictures yesterday when this thread first started. I came back today to check on what other pictures were added and mine weren't there. Either my computer messed up or I am losing my mind. lol

These be just_me at about 12 and 18.

I've been thinking that, but wasn't sure if it was an insult. I'm still not sure, but at least I'm not alone. ;)
