Shaving thread : how do you create lather ?

Hello out there / Bonjour à tous

I was wondering what technique you're using to create you shaving lather. In a mug or directly on your face ?
I use Proraso cream and usualy create my lather in a bowl, but i've realized that lather created directly on the face tends to be thicker and slicker, surely because it's less hydrated.
I'm the kind of guy that doesn't know how to make a choice, so i do my first WTG and XTG passes with out-of-the-bowl lather and ATG and buffing with direct-to-face lather.
What about you ?

I've found that bowl or face lathering is a personal preference, and can give excellent results either way.

He's got at least one video on lather creation, and maybe you can pick up a few pointers from the master.

Well I know mantic59's vids. As my father has always had a beard, this mantic guy really helped me more than my daddy'o !
