Schott Perfecto fitment pics. Does it fit properly?

I've picked up a pre owned Schott 118, couldn't resist for the price. According to the Schott this is the proper size for this model in a standard fit.
Experts of TFL, what is your opinion of fit? It feels snug on my arms and shoulders. but most everything I wear does. My Peacoat is a Schott size 48 and it fits the same. Though it's a completely different style and cut of jacket or course.
For reference this is tagged a size 46, model 118. I have little use for any real jacket in Florida but even limited use would be fine. I also travel a lot, so there is that. Truth be told I'd buy jackets if I lived in Nevada. It's a good sickness to have.

That's how the Schotts fit. Boxier than many others, which gives them more room at the waist. "Correctness" is in the eye of the beholder, of course. Brando's Durable was much snugger at the waist, with almost over-sized shoulders. THis is a different fit, squarer. Doesn't look "wrong" to my eye; the question is whether you want a different fit or if you're happy with this.

The sleeve length is good and I like the length of the jacket though some would say it's too short but overall, I'd say it's too boxy, at least for how I prefer to wear these jackets. Sleeves are kind of baggy, too.
That said, it doesn't look bad at all, just fits that boxy sort of way like many models of Schott Perfecto tend to be.

The 118 is the most boxy among its brethren. 613 is the slimmest. If you like this jacket, it wouldn't be a mistake to keep it but If you're not sure, and if you got it that cheap, sell it and get another one.

I think it looks good. Sleeves and shoulders look right on. Re any boxyness: i think that sort of cut works best for your frame.

Thanks everyone! Yeah I'm on the fence. I've got wide shoulders and a thick upper back and chest. It's very hard to find things that fit everywhere the right way. I may just bite the bullet and go custom. I've bought and sold 5 or 6 jackets now. 47.5 inch chest, 35 inch pants size. Nothing that ever fits the top fits the rest of me.

I appreciate the input. Mostly it's that I feel restricted in it. Reaching forward. Driving to work today I felt very restricted raising my arms to steer and shift So that sealed it for me. Onto the next one. Maybe Schott custom to measure or Langlitz. It's crazy cause here in Florida it gets limited usage. It's more for travels and liking that style in general. I'm glad others here know my struggle with jacket . One is too many, ten is not enough.

47.5 inch chest, 35 inch pants size. Nothing that ever fits the top fits the rest of me.

I'd suggest, on that basis, looking into the Aero 'MC' jacket, their take on the Perfecto / Durable style. They're a very distinct chest to waist drop, which might well suit you better.

I think the fit is, as Edward pointed out, what you can expect from Schott’s classic line of m/c jackets (118 or 618). Although I thought the length on the 118 was slightly longer? Fit looks fine everywhere except the front. I wouldn’t be happy with my belt exposed. For me, that’s a non starter. No matter how hard I’ve tried to convince myself otherwise, when a jacket is that length in front...I’m never happy.
The nice thing is, if you decide to flip it you won’t have any trouble. I’ve sold quite a few jackets and Schott always go the quickest.

There's a "long" version of the 118 which is a lot longer, esp in the torso.

Yup I know that but for some reason I thought the standard 118 measured longer in the body than the 618. I could be wrong.

That’s true, new production of 118 started from early 2000s fits roomier & longer than the standard 618.
And in addition to that, there’s a ‘L’ (stands for ‘long’) version of 118 which is even longer.

i'm the same size (chest and waist) at 5'11''..
Have you looked at finding a jacket with half(my first choice) or whole gussets under the sleeves?

Tony and I were thinking the same here as I looked at these photos.

And yes, think about something that tapers somewhat in as it goes to the waist. Contact Carrie at Thurston Brothers (see their thread), I think a Vic leather jacket would be a great fit for you living in Florida. It's my imperfect understanding that most Perfectos by Schott have quilted lining too, you would not want that in Florida.

I like seeing short jackets on people, but I do think this is slightly too short. Just barely covering the belt is good, but not covering the belt is too short IMO.

Fit on the jacket is good, but this is a short vintage fitting jacket. I would suggest trying jeans or trousers with a higher rise for a better allround look.

The fit looks much better from the back, the front is too roomy and short. The fact you wear a belt showing under the jacket with a belt making it looks even shorter, if you dont wear belt on your jeans, and cinch the belt on your jacket few more holes then probably looks much better.

This is good advice. Most of these short motorized bicycle rider jackets, when they were originally designed halfway through the last century, were intended/expected to be worn over high-rise pants, which were the norm of the day.
