The ELMC looks to be lighter than the Aero. The Californian is light makes for a great throw on.

I like the small collar. It does have a broken in feel and look. Some of the panels have a flat look, but this jacket looks just like the jacket on their webpage.

The small collar and way it lays so nicely on the jacket (flat) is one of several oft-repeated praises we're hearing from buyers of the ELMC Californian.

TM, your ELMC jacket looks amazing!!!

As good as it gets, really. I more than second these words. TM got one that is on the high end of special, as if it had been selected for you. I just did that for a buyer and the jacket he received was no better than TM's. Congrats!

Obviously the manufacturer could skive the hide to their desired weight, or they could be buying identically processed leather but spec'd to different thicknesses.

Precisely! This would come as no surprise if it is, in fact, the case.
