This is a great hat from the top of the line of the John B. Stetson Company. It is from the Royal Stetson Deluxe line, The Madison. This hat is in the homburg style with a single dent at the top of the crown and the brim in a tight upwards curl. Made from fine quality fur felt in a brown color. The grosgrain ribbon around the crown is a slightly lighter brown with almost red hues when the light catches it. There is a thin matching ribbon around the trim of the brim. (*Colors in photos not precise) The inside light brown leather sweatband is embossed with four gold stamps: The Royal Stetson Deluxe logo, “The Madison”, “RJG” and “Charles of Atlantic City 162729 Boardwalk.” The size tag reads “Stetson 1/8.” The inside of the crown is lined with an off-white satin and at the top is the Royal Stetson Deluxe logo. This hat is in overall good condition. There is slight yellow discoloration on the liner. The sweatband has some light scuff marks. There are about three 1/8” light spots on the underside of the brim. There is one tiny pen point size hole through the front side of the brim that can easily go unnoticed. Overall, 8.5 out of 10 for condition.
