My mom picked this up for me at an estate sale today for 15 bucks. Apparently there were about half a dozen fedoras there as well that she missed by half an hour, but I got the hatboxes.

The coat falls below my knees, has cuffed sleeves, and is a size 42 L (which is too big, but wearable). Patch pockets, grey/brown wool herringbone. Partially lined. 1940 union tag (so that puts it '40s or early '50s, right?)

Sorry about the terrible photo.

They also had a model T depot hack, which I saw a couple years ago, back when the owner was still alive.

Nice coat, you keep eating that Diner food and it'll be a perfect fit in no time.
I got a London Fog heavy wool trench coat and wasn't paying attenion to the listing and it's a 42 long and hangs almost to my ankles, I'm 5'11" and not likely to grow any taller. But I only spent $14 and $15 shipping and it's like new. Bob.

Never!lol
The trick for me is finding clothes that are long enough. I'm 6'1", and wear a 38, so when I find a coat with long enough arms, the body is usually too big. Then again, I'd rather wear something slightly too big than have my arms stick out a couple inches.

I agree, Longer is better than shorter...

I've gotten to the point with my coats that if the bottom hem t isn't closer to the ankle than it is to the knee I can't wear them,it's becoming a phobia

Nice job..Rogers Peet no less ...too bad about the lids....timimg is everything with those darn sales...
