Does anyone have any experience with enamel restoration? Do you think I might be able to, with a steady hand, a jewelers loupe and some of that Testors 'enamel' paint we used on airplane models when we were kids and be able to restore something like the above to its original appearance? [huh] Thanks

I would say definately possible, some may say you'd spoil the piece but its up to you...getting the shade of white right would be the hardest as it will dry different to how it looks wet...if you do go ahead try building it up in layers over several days as it will more than likely shrink back as it dries!

I agree with the above, though any collector of WWII and CCC stuff will tell you that doing any kind of restoration on something ruins the provenance. Again, it's up to you and I don't know the story behind it but if you ever want to resell it I'd leave it as is.

do NOT do this by yourself. I had a vintage DuPont lighter with a piece of enamel that had chipped away. It took me a while, but I found an antiques restorer who had done extensive work on fine China. The work was excellent. The gentleman laughed & said, "Thank GOODNESS you didn't try this yourself".

I would just sell the ring to me and then use the money to buy one that's perfect! DON'T RUIN IT!
