Trail hat or conversion project; you pick. Not sure on the age. This has quite a tall crown, measuring in at approx. 6 1/2" (at least) open crown. Probably no taller than 6 3/4". I'm sure this will take any crease, I have a diamond crease in it now with deeeeep sides. If you weren't going to use it as a western you can convert this to a tall crowned fedora, if you're in to that sort of thing.
Other than that, the hat is pretty clean. It does have a light stain on the underside of the brim; I'm sure this can be easily spot cleaned. Liner is intact and in great condition, along with the sweatband. The crown is pliable and takes a crease with ease. The brim is stiff, but still flexible; more like a snap brim. It can probably be re-shaped with some steam and a hot iron.
