Maybe I shouldn't have bumped it down so low. Now I'm having second thoughts about letting it go, it's such a great hat. Don't plan to bump it down anymore. Can't believe someone paid $500.00 for a hat! I don't have that kind of luxury.

I'm going to bump this down to $280.00 even though I know this is far less than the hat is worth. Don't feel like going to ebay yet.

This classic hat would make a great XMas present for someone. Compare to some Gay Prince hats selling on EBay and I think you will see this is a steal.

Just picked this up from a seller who had it listed as a Dobbs hat because it was in a Dobbs box. When I looked at the pics I couldn't believe what I saw. It's a "Martinelli" version of the Dobbs Gay Prince. The hat was in the open crown with no indication of ever being worn. The leather sweat was pretty dry rotted which I removed as I'm going to install a new sweat. The hat was a 6 7/8 but I have a modified hat stretcher that I'm designing that doesn't distort the hat whatsoever. With a lot of steam and slowly stretching it, I was able to get this stretched to a 7 1/4 or closer to a 7 3/8. The felt in this hat is absolutely beautiful, so much so that I didn't need to steam the crown to shape it. I know someone else on here had one of these and apparently they're fairly rare. If anyone has any info on this hat maker please let me know. I do believe this is from the 1940's. Please excuse the mug shot. :)

You realize you're tagging this onto somebody's 12-year old classified intended to sell a hat, right?

No. I saw the information for a Martinelli and thought this is where it should post. I knew the ad was older but figured if Martinelli is phrased then this is where it should go.
