I just picked up a Sterlingwear of Boston 100% wool Reefer peacoat for cheap. Just missing one button that looks like the attached picture. I'm doing some google searching but not coming up with a lot that matches. Any ideas on a good source for a replacement? Thanks!

Hi All,

I am planning to get either the chief coat from heat straps or wills jacket from ship John for my up and coming field construction job in Canada and was wondering if anyone has tried either of these on the site and if it does hold up.

Cheers,
Tim

Just in case anyone was interested. A minor scuff on a veg-tanned tea core jacket (horse hide). The original paint (pigment) seemed thin on the collar, hence the scuff. The rest of the jacket has a thicker paint and is more resilient.

So, it was an easy fix. Angelus acrylic leather paint. Followed by a thin coat of Angelus acrylic finisher. Good as new! The cotton swab was NOT used to apply paint, just to point out where the fix was. It's hard to find without a pointer!

I have a question about boots (I know this isn't the correct thread, but this forum doesn't seem to have a comparable thread)

Has anyone heard of rubberised leather boots? I saw a nice pair of Grensons (made in England), which are made from rubberised leather. Supposedly it makes it more waterproof, but I'm not sure, will this actually age well? Screenshot 2023-02-20 183502.png

Is rubberized leather synthetic?
