I'm thinking ebay maybe. Anyway it's fun to look and try for a good bargain, although if I want something I'll bid high. Anyway I was just in Brooks Brothers and after dropping $375'ish I asked the salesman to measure my chest and it came out 41". So should I think about 22" pit to pit (a 40) or 23" (a 42)? I'm not sorry I got a Vanson Ensign on ebay in 42 because I wanted to layer under it, but otherwise I think it's a tad large so I'm a little gun-shy about a 42. Plus, I've always been a "Medium" and a 42 is usually a "Large." I'm not looking to layer underneath (except maybe a sweater vest) and, without going overboard, am thinking of a more tailored (military?) fit. Thanks in advance to all who might have a considered opinion on the subject. I'm sort of in the dark because it's been eons since I bought something in sizes like this.
