Bussing on each cheek like they do in Quebec and Beunos Aires is okeydoke. They rate as P.D.A.'s.

yeah, but that's ok. This can be either a show of deep affection or a simple greeting/ goodbye to someone you only barely know. I love that.:)

:eek:fftopic: ...i miss Montreal....

There's "tasteful" PDA, and "obnoxious" PDA, as noted.

And then there's "Just Plain Dangerous" PDA, like blocking a narrow hallway with your tonsil-hockey session when I need to get through with 100lbs. of gear, after repeated polite requests that you let me by, forcing me to threaten to run the two of you down if you won't step aside.

I don't mind at all when I see public display of affection (with limits of course). On the contrary, it makes me happy to see people loving and caring about each other. :D

On the other hand, it bothers me no end and makes me kind of sad when couples fight, scream and hate each other in public ... :(.

That's how I feel about the whole thing! :)

Amen to that! Far more tasteless than over-affection!

A terrible Anology followed by something less moronic.

I say let them eat cake... or let them eat each other... but with small mouthfulls. Like any food love should be consumed tastfully. You would not shove an entire steak in your mouth in a resaurant. At home you can eat as messily as you want.. How long can I stretch this terrible analogy? Probably too long.

So without being a fool I really think it's sweet. I passionate yet short kiss upon greeting and then holding hands, stolling arm in arm etc is really touching to see. However when I was twelve and on the way to school me and a friend used to always see a couple on the train station who were ... very enthusiastic. We called them the underwater people... because they never seemed to come up for air.

Anyhow just my opinion.
Cheers,
Drew.

I remember reading an article (wish I could find it) where they interviewed that woman as a senior and she remarked something along the lines of, 'that guy was a terrible kisser.'

It's OK at the end of every World War.
Especially if you're a sailor fresh off God knows how many months on Da Big Gray Boat--pretty much, if you're a homecoming veteran you and your partner get a pass for a week or two in my book.

Just don't be a Menace To Navigation while doing whatever you're gonna do...lol

Honestly, i think it's adorable. I love seeing couples that can't keep their hands off each other, so long as they keep their hands off certain parts of each other! I mean things like kisses, handholding, arms around each other.

In other words, public displays of affection. Public displays of lust are not so appealing.

But i generally assume people will grow out of it, as it is almost always teenagers. The reason they're doing that in public is because the public isn't going to be nearly as upset about it as their parents ;). So, by "grow out of it" i mean literally "get a room" (of their own, and with it some privacy).

What can i say, i love love. I think it's brilliant, and it makes my day brighter when i can tell people are happy - and, particularly, happy with each other. So, mostly, i think there needs to be a distinction between affection and lust. Not that i have anything against lust ;). Only, it needn't be public.

Well said!

I'm old enough to have a different point of view but I'm too young-at-heart to accept it!

I grew up in a culture where it just wasn't done. No questions asked, it just wasn't done. Even today, when I see people all clingy-feely in the street, I know they aren't from around here.

It's one of those things I just deal with, though -- like the dreadful spectacle of grown men walking the streets in short pants, it's one of those unspeakable things that's just part and parcel of the modern world, and I just mind my own business and look the other way.

Ditto. I have only given in twice to a "deep" kiss in public (years ago), and felt embarrassed both times.
