Peters Bros straw

[RBH]

My Peters Bros straw arrived today. The straw is really soft and I like the way it feels on my head, light and cool!
The crown has the Indy style so it is tall but I am thinking I like it this way.
I will need to tighten up the front pinch but plan on wearing it some to make sure it is as I want it .
Overall if you are looking for a good straw this is another one that will fit the bill.
Joe was great to work with and I had my hat within 3 weeks.

Darn it all, that's a terrific hat, R! How tight do you want the front pinch? I think its great right now, but more varied viewing angles might be the clincher on that. Wonderful looking chapeau!

I was in the store about two weeks ago. (If you can find the Fort Worth Civic Center, it's just a block away.) Well worth stopping in. Your hat looks great. I priced custom felt, but I forgot to pay that much attention to straw. Good choice.

Looks great right out of the box R.!:eusa_clap :eusa_clap The crown height doesn't look as tall as mine did when I had pulled it from the box. It sure looks good on you and the skull. It sure is a wonderful summer hat.

Thank you everyone for your comments.
I have really enjoyed.. no I gotta say loved wearing this hat for the last couple of days.
I know the tall crown is not for everyone , but as of right now I dont forsee bashing it down to a c-crown.
As for the pinch, I wet it down and put a tight 'Indy' pinch in and like the way it turned out.The front pinch was flattened in shipping.
I will try and get a few pics this weekend of me wearing it.

Thanks B... thats what drew me to this to begin with, while I do like the Indy style of fedora, I was wanting a brown straw.
I will say again this is a fine hat. I have not owned a Milan straw before but have seen several, and the brims all had a bow in the middle of them. I think that was because they were shorter brims than this.

Looking Sharp!!!

I think you will like the Milan type straws. They do seem to be a little more "ventilated" than Panamas. Not as well crafted but in this heat, go for cool. Most business men wore a Milan type weave in the 50's as I recall. Sharp hat, well done.

Looks good R! Terrific pinch in front. Just the right hat to wear for hot weather, style and comfort. And cutting grass wearing it makes it two kinds of weave in one, "milan" and "my lawn"

RBH, I like that hat. PanamaBob has a cocoa colored hat that I plan on adding to my collection as funds permit. I have a brown Adam Milan, but it is the only straw that I have that is not white or natural. It looks good on ya.

The hat looks fantastic, and you wear it well, RBH!! I especially like the tight pinch you've put in it, really sharp!!!
