I know there are a lot of pet owners here. It's very scary indeed.

Golly, that is scary. I feel so badly for the pets and their owners that were affected by this. I can't get onto the website that has the list of foods that might have been affected, but I don't think I use anything made by this company. I hope nobody here is affected by this. I can tell by the pet threads that, like me, your pets are like your children. I'll keep a good thought that all your pets are safe and happy

If any of the canned food I have been giving her makes her sick, the recall will be the least of their worries. If Fancy Feast is included, that crystal glass they serve it in on the commercials will make a nice dent in one of their heads. :rage:

i must add though, i'm really not too surprised that this has happened. a little research show some disturbing things about the origins of standard pet foods - not exactly human-grade, or even close. i wish this stuff was better-known.

luckily the price of good quality stuff isn't too out-of-reach - we're pretty broke but keep our cat in Evo quite easily, and we definitely worry less about the food's source.

My kitties eat Fancy Feast, a LOT of Fancy Feast. They LOVE the new line they have, it's chicken and eggs and greens, and smells so gross, but they inhale it. They also like Iam's, lamb and rice is their favorite, I should be giving them that more often, I think it's supposed to be healthier than the other stuff.

Let's see, Menu foods list of products effected won't be out until tomorrow. The number they give to call in the article is useless because the place is closed due to "inclimate weather"---And the Menufoods lines are all tied up every time I try to call. :rage: :eusa_doh:
Looking at the stock price, it has dropped nearly two bucks a share today. Gee, you think something terrible is around the conrer for this company? :eusa_doh: We'll see.

Yeah, the thing is that I bought something else a while back, that I can't remember now, at Walmart because my cat was inhaling the mixed assortment of cans. Fortunately, she didn't like them too much so I haven't been giving it to her for the last week or so. I hope those weren't on the list. She has been fine so far though---but if anything happens....:rage:
The sack food I give is Seafood Medley. She loves the stuff. I have no idea how good it is but she is healthy so far. [huh]

I feed my dogs Bil-Jac (Dad still swears by it) and my cat is on science diet urinary tract health. I've researched them pretty well, thankfully. I already almost lost my monster once, don't need to succeed the second time.

I would have a break down if I lost my puppy in such a manner, especially since I lost my little dog in september.
Daisy has it exactly right, pets can become like children, and mine is probably no exception.

I buy his food from my vet, it costs more, but he's so little it only cost about a dollar a day to feed him, and I find the nutrition he gets is better than with generic[huh]

From what I just heard, they still are not *completely* sure about what is causing this. I had a batch of one of the brands listed but not the #s listed - threw them out anyway. I figure... $5.00 of food is simply not worth it for me to take a chance.

I'm sticking to Fancy Feast for awhile (and Tiki Cat, mine LOVE that one)
