Permanent Trouser Crease

Does anyone know how to put a permanent or at least long lasting trouser crease in a pair of pants?

From what I understand, tailors and dry cleaners use a thin strip of malleable plastic-adhesive which is hot-pressed into the fold creating a permanent crease. Or you can also have a permanent crease stitched into your trousers, although that probably wouldn't look too nice.

Otherwise, hot water + powder starch and a good iron is the best I can offer.

Wait...unless you mean wool trousers. In which case, I'm all out of ideas. :eusa_doh:

As Undertow notes, the only permanent crease I am aware of in the market is the one he describes, with the use of a small strip of thermo-setting plastic. Whilst it doesn't sound a nice thing to do to a pair of trousers, I understand that it is the only way to get a decent crease in fabrics such as Harris Tweed and, sure enough, my Harris suit has it. It doesn't bother me overmuch, although if I were a purist it probably should. I believe that some drycleaners and repairing tailors offer it. I don't have any home remedies to offer unfortunately!

I use to iron my trousers and iron again before wear out so it definitely presses same place. When suit is in the hanger I put my trousers carefully so press is right and stays so.

My other pants are folded so that presses aren't wrinkled.
