Panama Advise needed

I have a Cuenca Pamama I bought a few years ago (not from Bob, sadly). Its a fairlly high crown which used to have almost no taper. Now it has developed a bit of reverse taper (it spreads out a bit above the ribbon). I don't like the look. Anything to be done about it?

I bought a hat from Panama Bob and the hat had an ?¢‚Ǩ?ìEcuadorian?¢‚Ǩ? block. I don?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢t care for that block and would like to have you do some thing with it. The hat is one of PanamaBobs less expensive hats (about 200 WPSI). But, it is a nce hat. I remember Bob saying don?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢t make an inexpensive hat a costly hat by messing with it (paraphrasing greatly). What do you think, reblocking?

What I mean to say is that you can't compare a $50.00 hat to a $1000.00 hat. Too many people try to do that. There is a reason USA blocking costs what it does.

Let's say a guy wants to spend $200.00. I say, put $200.00 into the quality of the hat, wear an Ecuador block until you have the money to put a USA block into it.

I'm very cautious about comparing Ecuador blocks to USA blocks, and for many good reasons.

I searched the net for several days before deceiding on "Panama Hats Direct" for purchasing my hat. I'm no hat expert, but it was easy to see how careful a guys gotta be when he jumps into this particular shark tank. I saw one company who claimed their best Montecristi sold for twenty thousand bucks; and then there where all those companies who sold genuine Panama hats for less than a hundred bucks--or so they said. I tried educating myself: weaves per square inch, quality of weave, ect. ect.. At first I though, because of their hundreds of dollars lower price, "Panama Hats Direct" must be selling seconds. So I called them and asked them flat out: Why should I beleive your hats are the same quality as you competitors? Casey, the guy I spoke with, seemed very unslick. The kind of guy I'd rather do business with, but you never know until you have the product in your hand. I ordered his companies "Special Reserve" Monticristi. A thousand weaves per square inch. Price: $580.00 not including the balsa wood box--an extra thirty-five. Now, who of you guys out there--and I know you're out there--has an experience with "Panama Hats Direct?"

I bought from Casey last year.
The hat is very fine, the service was very good.
I'm sure that you'll enjoy your panama.

Only one advice, one Panama isn't more....you need another one in another style.
Then, in future you could buy from Panamabob, a lounge member.

I'm waiting a Panama Montecristi from Bob, I'm very ansious, but I'm sure I've done a wonderful purchase.
