So I found what should have been a beautiful grey hat, buried in my box 'o hats.
Should.
It has been painted with black paint. Before we throw accusations around, this painting was done about ten years ago in my quest for a black hat before the days of "vintage is awesome, no matter the color". I took the liner out and steamed it a bit in the hopes of giving it a better shape. It was not in perfect condition anyhow, covered in pock marks and moth nips.
However, I think I may have something wearable, not dressy by any means, but wearable when "slumming". What do you folks think?
The moral of the story?
Never, never, ever paint your hat. Maybe your wagon, but not yer hat!
