Extra rare Optimo hat in rare size and color. Optimo makes the finest hats
in the world, hat maker to the stars - as seen in Public Enemies, Road To
Perdition, Sea Biscuit, etc. (They just did all the hats in the new J. Edgar
movie). This particular style retails for over $650 new. It is marked as a
true 7 5/8, it can be sized to fit anywhere from 7 3/8 to 8.
The Dimensions of this hat are ideal, and right in the pocket for the classic fedora.
brim= 2", standard optimo crown = 5 ", ribbon =1 7/8". The block is what
Optimo calls the "Chicago" see here (http://www.optimohats.com/#/hats/68/)
and it is their top selling block. It looks great on everyone. The "in the pocket"dimensions make
this hat extremely versatile, and this hat looks great with the brim up, down, formal or casual. (see pics)
The felt is a winter weight blend of beaver, hare, and nutria and is super soft and supple.
It can be molded to fit and hold shape by hand.
Brim snaps and holds to any shape. This is the best hat that money can buy,
and it truly is a show stopper. The color is called Olive Chestnut and was a
one off run, never to be produced again. This hat comes alive in different
light, ( I tried to capture its essence in as many lighting schemes as i
could, inside, outside, and skylight.) It ranges from black / super dark
chocolate in low lit rooms, to an earthy brown with flecks of olive and gold
in sunlight. Optimo's colors are truly breathtaking, and this hat is no
exception. The tones literally jump off the hat in different lights. This
is the only color I have seen that reflects and sometimes glow's a subtle beautiful gold
highlight. The hat will play tricks on the admirer, as all optimos do.
The hat is nearly mint. I would say mint, but people have different opinions
of the word. Near mint for sure. It has been worn less than 5 times, and has
just visited Optimo for a clean and block. Optimo has become quite popular,
and if you were to buy this new, you would wait 6-8 weeks for delivery. The
closer we get to x-mas, the longer the wait!!!
