That's rather amazing. I am embarrassed to admit that I thought she had long ago departed for that big film studio in the sky. Perhaps not unreasonably: She was in "Gone with the Wind", for heaven's sake. No matter. Happy Birthday Ms. de Havilland! A living witness to the golden age of Hollywood.

Always a favorite. Ms. de Havilland was once married to Marcus Goodrich, author of Delilah; though the marriage failed after World War II. And she supposedly put rake Errol Flynn in his place.
