Does anyone have a favorite technique for capturing audio clips from DVD movies? I've done it, but only using the analog outputs or by going through multiple passes using various software.

If someone is aware of simple software that allows this, I'd be glad to hear about it.

On my Mac I use Snapz Pro X. I think the same software is available for PC. It was only like $30 or so, I think.

Actually I just checked and it's Mac only.

and $69, but it works great, never a problem. You didn't mention your platform so this may not help. Also this program can capture the video too.

Another fun app that I have is WireTap Pro, also from Ambrosia. It will record any audio palying through the computer from any source. It's only $19. But I did learn the hard way that when you use it it will record ALL the audio, so if you are recording something and continue to work on the computer it will also record all the clicks and beeps that other software makes.

Dictation

On a related note, can anyone recommend good dictation or transcription software? It does not have to convert voice to text.
