Hello once more! It has occurred to me that I usually focus time and energy on finding smart/casual outerwear, but in the process I realized that my ultra casual/light/morning work jackets (which obviously get worn a lot) do not represent my style as it were anymore.

I've considered the harrington jacket style which I think should more or less fit these criteria, but i'm also looking forward to your own suggestions.

So what would you recommend as an ultra casual, but classically styled jacket?

Thanks for your suggestion! Yeah I like the style of the plain long button up jacket. I'm mostly interested in a non-leather jacket to fill this slot though.

Harringtons are great for casualwear in Spring/Summer/Autumn, too light for Winter. Available in a wide price range too - great if, like me, you're happy to pay for a more expensive one in a colour you'll wear a lot, but want something cheaper in a shade you'll wear only occasionally. Having been first introduced in 1937, they also cut right across all eras of interest to me.

For something for colder weather, I would recommend an Aero Waterfront, or similar wool jacket, or a B15. I love my Waterfront. Just last week acquired an Alpha Replica Series B15C, which I'm really enjoying wearing.

Yeah I think your suggestions are pretty much spot on. Although the waterfront style jackets are rather more expensive than I expected!! :eusa_doh:
