Very, very nice hat - it's good to see young guys wearing quality fedoras like that. We don't see many fedoras in Seattle, but when I spot them in the distance, I always look forward to getting a closer look, and they're always cheap wool or similar - rarely see younger guys in real nice hats like this, but you look great!

Thank you, gents!

Can anyone give me any ideas of when this hat was made? Here are some better pics of the liner, the only label, and suede-side of the sweat. There was no original price tag or model/info sticker.

As you can see, the sweat leather is absolutely pristine, and it's still very pliable. A big plus when getting it squeezed onto my noggin! Oh yeah, and the liner is SEWN in... not a drop of glue to be found.

Very nice Resistol, AFI. I have one with the self conforming sweat. It makes for a very comfortable lid, and it's really the nicest Open Road style hat I have.

That is one beautiful hat. As pristine as it looks and especially with the directions for care in it, I'd almost be tempted to not wear it at all... Almost :) Wear it and enjoy!

AFI, that is a great hat. I have a self-conforming Resistol as well and it is really sweet; very thin, soft felt and the band is great. You wear it well. :eusa_clap

Very nice hat, AFI! :eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap

Other then the shades of grey it's identical to the hat I'm wearing today--except that mine is a Champ Featherweight. :p Identical ribbon treatment, though.

I see you're up in Alaska. Weren't you in Colorado a while back? Or am I thinking of someone else?

:eek:fftopic: A good friend of mine retired from the AF a few weeks ago. He was stationed at Elmendorf. His grown children (boy and girl, now young adults) flew up for the ceremony and then the four of them travelled together from Elmendorf to PA--on three motorcycles and a car! The wife and daughter took turns riding and driving. They had an adventure of a lifetime on that trip! :eusa_clap :eusa_clap

Cheers,
Tom

Senior, I was at Ellsworth in South Dakota for 7 years before moving up here. Got here in the first half of April, and we've all really fallen in love with the place! As for the ALCAN driving in, it was amazing, even during the break-up/thaw season!

Regards,
-AFI
