As I write this the New Year is still some 2 1/2 hours away where I am. How is everybody ringing in the New Year? Or for those of you already in 2013 how did you celebrate New Year's?

At home watching the fireworks. Boom! Boom!! Boom!!!

According to this morning's news, there was a spike in runaway dogs last night.

What is it with dogs and fireworks?

At my mother's in Dallas visiting for the holidays. Been watching a marathon of season 3 of 24 on TV and flipped over to see the live broadcast of downtown Dallas setting off fireworks for the New Year.

I listened some Bing Crosby's records, then I watched Holiday Inn film and then
I went on a field with sa 58 rifle and magazine full of blank rounds as every year.
Happy New Year everyone! :)

Tried to enjoy the new year festivities, but was unable to. A shooting took place near where I was that scattered everyone. Midnight fireworks were cancelled, not that I cared. Details on what caused the shooting are still unclear. All I know for sure is 2 dead and 3 wounded. I was just sitting in my favorite bar too, about a block away from the action. The sad part is there were families all over the Old Sacramento area enjoying the night with their children.

I had a big party at my place. Started around 8 and ended a little while ago, it's almost 4 am while I'm typing, so I think we did pretty well. Had about 20-30 people here.

Well, loud noises terrify them and other non-human animals. No surprise there.

We toasted in the New Year with some sparkling apple juice. We got engaged 8 years ago as the ball dropped, which means this year we'll have been married 8 years- how the time flies!

This year was extremely special to us because I have already met one of my New Years resolutions, by far the most important goal I've ever had. I just have a few more goals to go in the two upcoming months.

And the floor didn't collapse??? :p:eeek:

He's too far North for that. My grandparents house didn't even have that problem, and it was in Kentucky up on limestone blocks every ten feet of so. Yes, the dogs DID live under the house. The "foundation" or wood trim around the bottom of the house was left open by the back door. If the FLOOR would have collapsed, it wold have killed one dog (usually) and a dozen cats.

Went to a very nice SMALL party at the home of fellow Lounger Skyvue, and his lovely wife. Attempted to play Clue while guzzling Champagne. Had 2 adorable dogs with their heads on my lap at the same time. Good times.

I worked 11pm to 6am at my store. Thought I was going to have to deal with drunken idiots all night long. Nope, dead as a door nail. I'm not used to working over nights and have been paying for it most of today. Going to bed soon. At least I got paid time and a half.

Something I saw pointed out, this is the first year since 1987 that all the numbers in the year do not repeat themselves.

Played video games (Gran Turismo 5) until 11:55pm.
Tried to open a sparkling red wine, and couldn't get the cork off, so decided to Carolans Irish Cream instead.
Then the wife and I spent the next hour ringing in the new year like a lot of pet owners, by calming down the dogs each time fireworks went off. :)
