I have just recieved my newest hat from PanamaBob and blocked by Art!

It is a very tall crown 4 3/4 at the front pinch and just over a 3" brim. The ribbon is a nice blue, which is 1 3/4 inches wide.

The tightness of the weave is fabulous. I apologize for the pics, they aren't that great.

Thanks to Art and Panama Bob!!

I am beginning to like the wide brim more. Thanks for posting. I am a pragmatist. Sun is bad and I am fair skinned guy who has a family history of skin cancer.

I am with you Walt. Blue eyes, (had) blond hair, and very fair skin. When my grandfather lost the top part of his ear to skin cancer was when I started looking for a brimmed hat. Found IG, and went from there.

Hey thanks

Just the MERVYN'S $19.95 shirt with 50% off and an additional sales discount. I bought the one you see, a blue one, greenish, and another, each one was $9.

100% cotton cool. Love it. Makes the hat look great on me, Hawiian shirt, kakki pants, brown belt and two tone spectator shoes, sunglasses......what is better?

We really have hit the straw hat season..way too warm in SF Bay Area for a Felt hat...just wait however...our summer's are famous for the damp fog coming in...but mostly over on the Berkeley side of the hills, not the Lafayette and Walnut Creek area I'm in!

Incredible hat, yes, unusual for Montecristi, no! There are reasons they are well sought after and most are readily available.

When I buy I like to know the weave count, the number of vueltas, the dimensions, the number of enriijes (spelling???), if it was woven in Pile or Pampa, whose initials are in the hat, and how the backweave is straightened up.

One guy I know uses 30 or so different criterion to determine quality. The guys and gals in Montecristi can do it in a quick glance.
