New Miller straw

Here is a pic of my new Miller Logan straw in cocoa. I removed the wide ribbon and replaced it with a 3/8 light brown one. I now call my hat my "Strat-o-Straw" after the ultra cool Stratoliner by Steston.

Very nice hat, and great modification

I like the look, and the wide brim, tall crown. The Miller straws are excellent bargains, and generally very good quality.

The MILLERHATS.com offers a ton of great selections.

Your hat even looks more "vintage" by your changing the ribbon. Nice touch.
And, this puppy will keep the dermatologist away;)

Nice hat, nice modification!

Very nice!

I really like the hat with the narrow ribbon. I'd love a summer hat that looks like my Strat. I've been thinking of doing the same, but wasn't sure where to find the ribbon and how likely I'd be to mess it all up. Any advice would be welcome (especially where to find the ribbon).

Looks great! Enjoy it and wear it in good health!

I picked the ribbon up at a local fabric store. It looks close to the style that is on my Open Roads and Stratoliner. I attached it with double stick tape, the wide ribbon that came on it was attached that way.

Yep, it's a great look. That hat looks like just the thing to distinguish you from all the other guys in their "summertime casual" attire.
Our Fortino37 posted some great how-to pics in a thread on ribbon replacement started on June 5. It's worth checking out.

You just might have onverted me to narrow bands
Give it a try. The ribbon I bought was by no means expensive. It looks good and was easy to work with. Use the double stick tape ,cut into small strips and have fun with the ribbon. I used my felt Strat for a guide on the way the ribbon was shaped. I think this will work well on the straws but of course not on the good felts. I leave that up to the ones that know what they are doing.
