new double breasted suit

Does anyone make a double breasted suit nowadays, other than really high end clothiers? I mean the $200-400 dollar range... I can't even find one in a Joseph A. Banks catalog except for their double breasted seersucker suit. I don't believe Men's Wearhouse carries one either.

Check online in JAB's Signature line category, and in the suit separates. They have a few double-breasted options.

Brooks Brothers occasionally have DB suits, but they run higher than that price range.

I bought a charcoal gray double breasted suit online from JC Penny. The suit is nice, 100% worsted wool, and you can order the pant length in 1" increments. I paid less than $200 for the jacket and pants. It's a real nice suit for the price. I wear it to Church with my light gray fedora.

Yeah, it's a pretty great deal. The Signature line aren't bad, for fused suits.

I've been wishing for a suit that would emulate this look that Hugh Laurie wore as Bertie Wooster. Granted, they're quite different, but this I think this is as close as I'm gonna get at present budget levels.

fftopic: What you and the posters on the thread in your link fail to realize is that the shows that Hugh Laurie appeared in are not widely known here in the US. If shown at all they were shown on PBS (public TV which is not watched by your average American) or, more recently, on the BBC stations offered on cable or satellite TV (also not watched by your average American.) The import/export of TV shows is still a lot heavier on the side of US exports than on foreign imports, I'm afraid. Pity, too, in my opinion. There are a number of shows I quite enjoyed when I was stationed in England that I miss seeing. Of course, one of them didn't get picked up for a second season (series)--The Strangerers.

For what it's worth, my reaction the first time I saw House was along the lines of "Hey, it's the guy who played Wooster!" That's mostly because I have a tendency to not pay much attention to the names of actors.

My JAB DB suit arrived yesterday, but they included the wrong size trousers. I guess their suits are stocked as separate trousers and coats (which would indicate they're not necessarily cut from the same bolt), and there was a mix-up when mine were pulled for shipping. Still haven't received a response from customer service, either.

Thanks, I know... my wife and I have been watching them thanks to Netflix; we've finished them and have moved on to "As Time Goes By." Some of the other shows I liked over there are on my Netflix list as well.

My main point was that the average US TV viewer isn't going to be familiar with Jeeves and Wooster as it was never shown on the commonly watched TV channels (that I'm aware of.) At best some are vaguely aware of the name "Jeeves" being a standard butler name but don't know the source.
