Need Help With My Borsalino Derby.

Any information on my Black Bowler Derby would be greatly appreciated. Age, Value? I found it on a table while walking the streets of Genoa, Italy about ten years ago. I kind old lady was selling knick knacks on a table, placed it on my head and it was a perfect fit. Couldn't resist. The markings on the hat are as follows:

"C. Sartoris"
Via Roma - Genova - Casa Fondata 1882

Sweatband: "Borsalino - Antica Casa 1857"
Under Sweatband: 7 1/8 (Galmoela) 175 2220 - F

The hat is near MINT - and recently at a hat store in NYC, the gentleman working were quite blown away by the condition. Couldn't offer me anymore information and forwarded me to The Fedora Lounge.

Thanks for your time guys - this thing has been a mystery! Even wrote Borsalino in Italy.

It's fine!! The only poor question is the one not asked. I'm sure a more seasoned borsalino dater will pop in and give you a more specific date.

This is a fantastic old Borsalino stiff felt. It's difficult to date but my guess would 1930s but could be 1940s or earlier. This should be moved to Borsalino Brotherhood thread.

I wonder which store you brought it to in NYC. Come to Brooklyn and I'd love to check it out for you. From the pictures the hat looks to be from the 1930's.
