I got the three borsalinos from Douglas today. I have this one on now, so I have a picture of it, but pictures of the others are to follow sometime later tonight.

please pardon the single dog hair on the hat. If you have a dog, you'll understand.

Oh, of course. I'm still acquainting myself with names.

Dog hairs -- boy, do I understand.

and last- but certainly not least is the homburg. It's really a beautiful color.
It's also from Romolo Bignotti, the same store in Venice as my fuzzy borsalino.

Well, they certainly look better on you than they did on me. They should clean up nicely when it comes time.

and none of them have the "normal" borsalino reorder tags under the sweat.
the homburg tag has the borsalino text on the left of the tag, running vertically, which I suppose is the old style kind.
The thin ribbon one has a tag like no borsalino I've ever seen. Maybe it was added by a shop that did work on it?

and I just got another on the bay.
it needs to be blocked.
I believe you are wrong about that.

Note the box. I have one a lot like it.
Go to this thread:

Scroll down to the third hat.

I predict you will be able to form it with your hands,
following its memory, probably a c-crown
like mine. Then you might have to give it a bit of steam and then
set it to dry. It will remember its block.

Note that mine has a similar liner and ribbon. The guy I bought it
from bought it new himself, in 1955. A more likely age for the hat.

I think you will be amazed by this hat.

You are right Feltfan, this is a crushable hat. Mine easily forms into any shape. I have a pocket hat.
