My favorite year

I noticed, as I watched assorted movies, that 1939 is a popular year to have movies take place.

Do any of you have a preferred year from the golden age?

Mine is probably 1946. The Depression was over, the war was over, the future looked bright but we still had the great stuff left over from the 1930s to enjoy.

I would be interested what part of the golden age y'all prefer and any reasons.

Wolf- our Gumshoe story is in '46- that was my choice I think...
I think the few years immediately post-war were a pretty interesting time but the late '30s are for me too.
